Abstract
Eurazijski ris (Lynx lynx) obitava na svim kontinentima osim Antarktike i Australije. Životinja je koja ima tijelo prilagođeno za lov, sva osjetila su podređena što lakšem i tišem prikradanju i lovu iz zasjede. Stražnji udovi su razvijeniji, duži i čvršći od prednjih. Šape su razmjerno velike ali i lagane, sa pandžama koje su oštre i dugačke te služe za hvatanje, obranu i označavanje teritorija. Tijelo euroazijskog risa je najveće od svih risova, vrlo je fleksibilno. Glava je velika, sa krupnim očima koje omogućuju savršen vid, posebice noću, te ušima koje se lako mogu okretati radi osluškivanja. Pare se jedan puta godišnje i ženka donese dva do četiri slijepa mladunčeta na svijet. Životni vijek im je 10-12 godina, no postoje i izvješća o jedinkama koje su doživjele i 24 godine. Euroazijski ris obitava na malom području Europe, u Hrvatskoj obitava na području Dinarida u Gorskom kotaru, Lici i Ćićariji i povremeno na Kordunu i Kvarnerskom primorju. Ris je u Republici Hrvatskoj proglašen strogo zaštićenom vrstom; lov na njega je zabranjen i strogo se kažnjava. U Hrvatskoj u divljini obitava 40-60 jedinki, dok u susjednoj Sloveniji postoji svega 15 jedinki.
Abstract (english)
Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) resides on every continent except Antarctica and Australia. This animal has a body adapted for hunting, and all of his senses are subjected to easier and quieter stalking and hunting from ambush. The rear limbs are developed, longer and stronger than the front. Paws are relatively large but lightweight, with sharp and long claws which are used to snatch, defend and territorial marking. The body of the Eurasian lynx is very flexible, and largest amongst all the lynx. The head is large, with large eyes that allow him perfect vision, especially at night, and ears that can easily be turn in order to hear. They mate once a year and female bring two to four blind cubs into the world. Lynx lifespan is 10-12 years, but there are reports of individuals who have lived 24 years. Eurasian lynx inhabits a small area of Europe, in Croatia area of Dinarides in Gorski Kotar, Lika and Ćićarija, occasionally in Kordun and Kvarner coastal region. Lynx is designated as strictly protected species and therefore hunt is prohibited and strictly punishable. In wilderness part of Croatia reside 40-60 individuals, while in Slovenia there are only 15 individuals.
