Abstract
Umrežavanje i spajanje računala unutar tvrtki i organizacija je sve češće primijenjena praksa koja se pokazala veoma učinkovita i važna. Količina i veličina podataka koja se međusobno šalje postaje sve veća i zahtjevnija prema performansama računala. Ovaj se završni rad stoga bazirao na mjerenje i analiziranje performansi koje opisuju mrežne karakteristike triju različitih OS-a, Windows 7, 8.1 te 10. Svaki OS je instaliran na dva identična prijenosna računala te spojen mrežnim kabelom.... More Koristeći tri različita alata za simuliranje i mjerenje mrežnog prometa, dobiveni su rezultati uspoređeni i analizirani. Iz prikazanih rezultata zaključeno je koji sustav daje najbolje performanse u pojedinom i ukupnom području mjerenja. Kod svakog mjerenog parametra se u većini slučajeva nabolje pokazao neki drugi sustav te niti jedan ne dominira gledajući sve parametre. Windows 8.1 je u prosjeku imao rezultate bolje ili slične ostalima OS-ima sa nevelikim odstupanjima (osim za delay), dok je Windows 7 ukupno dao bolje rezultate od Windows 10, koji tako unatoč činjenici da je najnoviji, nema i najbolje mrežne performanse. Abstract (english)
Networking and connecting computers inside companies and organizations is a more often praxis which has shown to be very effective and important. The amount and size of data that is being sent to each other is becoming increasingly bigger and more demanding for the computer performance. This final work was therefore based on performance measurements and analysis that describe the network characteristics of three different operating systems, Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. Each OS is installed... More on two identical laptops and connected with a network cable. Using three different tools for simulating and measuring network traffic, the results obtained were compared and analyzed. From the presented results, it is concluded which system gives the best performance in the individual and overall measurement area. For each measured parameter, in most cases a different system demonstrated better and none of them is dominating by all parameters. On average, Windows 8.1 had better or similar results than other OSs with varying deviations (except for delay), while Windows 7 overall gave better results than Windows 10, which, despite the fact that it is the latest, does not have the best network performance Less
