Abstract
Emocionalna inteligencija je pojam koji je postao izuzetno atraktivan u organizacijama u posljednjih dvadesetak godina jer se fokusira na istraživanje emocija i njihovog utjecaja na rad u organizaciji. S obzirom da su ljudi najvažniji resurs u organizaciji, potrebno ih je voditi u pravome smjeru i inspirirati ih, što može jedino pravi, istinski lider koji svoj način vođenja temelji upravo na konceptu emocionalne inteligencije. Takav koncept pridonosi brojne pozitivne efekte na organizaciju koje se ogledaju u povećanju produktivnosti i profitabilnosti organizacije. Razvojem brojnih modela, istraživači su utvrdili koje su kompetencije lideru potrebne kako bi se transformirao u emocionalno inteligentnog vođu. U ovome radu predstavljeni su temelji emocionalne inteligencije, kao i prikaz osnovnih pojmova liderstva s naglaskom na prikaz upravo onoga što je važno za postizanje uspješnog, emocionalno inteligentnog lidera.

Emotional intelligence is a concept that has become very attractive in the past twenty years because it focuses on the emotions and their role and impact on the organization. Given that people are the most important resource in the organization, they need to be guided in the right direction and be inspired and motivated, which are the core competencies of the leader who has high emotional intelligence. This concept contributes to a numerous positive effects on the organization, which are reflected in increasing productivity and profitability of the organization. While developing various emotional intelligence models, the researchers found what competencies are required for the leader to transform him into an emotionally intelligent one. This paper presents the foundations of emotional intelligence, as well as the review of the basic concepts of leadership focusing on the competencies which are needed in order to become a successful, emotionally intelligent leader.
