The continuation of this thesis describes the roles of leadership that is guidance in the field of economics and management. The term leadership, or being a good or a bad leader, is considered one of the most widespread controversies in the business world today. Is a good leader simply born that way or is it something that can be learned? Some authors believe that a real, true leader has an innate managerial note, and that further education and training are just additional factors for upgrading an already instilled leadership spirit, while others believe that leadership is a fully learned ability and, by the combination of circumstances and adequate education, a person becomes a leader. Indeed, examples show that both sides are right. Whether a leader is trained to be a leader or is he a natural leader in a business organization is not so important. The main thing is that he exists in the organization and that he is able to lead a team of business people to their goal in the shortest period of time. Often, the terms leader and manager are identified in the literature as well as in the business world. Not every manager is a leader. Leader and manager are two closely related occupations and they complement one another. In order to become a successful manager, it is often necessary to first adopt leadership qualities and implement them in the process of achieving the set goals through control, coordination of energy and knowledge of other people, employees. The structure of this thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter interprets the main character traits of a business leader, the importance of being a leader in a company. The second part of the thesis presents a theoretical overview of leadership and its role in management. The third part of the thesis is reserved for types of leaders and assimilation of each type of leader into certain types of business. The thesis ends with a conclusion.
