Abstract
Sumporovodik (H2S) je do nedavno bio smatran fitotoksinom, no rastući broj dokaza potvrđuje da njegova prisutnost u niskim, fiziološkim koncentracijama ima pozitivan učinak na biljke. Istraživanjima na biljkama je dokazano moguća uloga H2S kao signalne molekule uz vodik peroksid i dušik oksid. H2S utječe na mehanizme regulacije gibanja puči, potiče rast adventivnog korijenja te pojačava otpornost biljaka na stres izazvan visokim koncentracijama soli i teških metala. Sjeme krastavca (Cucumis sativus L.) je osmoprimirano s dva donora H2S različitih kemijskih svojstava; GYY4137 i NaHS. Sjeme iz različitih proizvodnih godina je osmoprimirano u otopinama navedenih donora H2S te naklijavano na otopini NaCl niske koncentracije (25 mM) i vodi. Analiziran je sadržaj slobodnog prolina, intenzitet lipidne peroksidacije te koncentracija vodikovog peroksida u hipokotilima. Lipidna peroksidacija je bila značajno smanjena pri tretmanu sjemena s GYY4137 dok je efekt NaHS kao donora sumporovodika vjerojatno izostao zbog hlapljive prirode tog spoja. Svi ispitivani pokazatelji u hipokotilima su pokazali niže vrijednosti nakon klijanja u otopini NaCl. Rezultati ispitivanih pokazatelja ukazuju da je slabi solni stres djelovao stimulativno na pokretanje nekih antioksidativnih mehanizama u biljci. su daljnja istraživanja koja će na molekularnoj razini rasvijetliti točnu ulogu i funkciju ovog spoja u odgovoru biljke na stres.

Until recently, hydrogen sulphide has been thought as a phytotoxine, but there is a growing body of evidence suggesting that in low concentrations in plants it can act in more positive manner. Researches on plants confirmed a possible role of H2S as a signalling molecule alongside with hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide respectively. H2S is involved in stomatal movement control, encourage of adventurous root growth as well as it enhance tolerance on stress caused by high concentrations of salt or heavy metals. In our research, cucumber seeds (Cucumis sativus L.) have been osmoprimed with two H2S donors differing in chemical properties; GYY4137 and NaHS. Seeds of three different production seasons were osmoprimed with before mentioned H2S donors and germinated on low concentration NaCl solution (25 mM) and water. Free proline content, lipid peroxidation intensity and hydrogen peroxide concentration in hypocotyls were analysed. Lipid peroxidation was significantly lower in the treatment with GYY4137 while treatment with NaHS didn’t show any effect. All tested parameters in hypocotyls showed lower values after germination in NaCl solution. Considering all the examined parameters, it was found that a mild stress stimulated some antioxidative mechanisms in plants. Further researches on molecular level need to be carried to elucidate the exact role and function of this gasotransmitter in plant stress response.
