Abstract
Azotobacter spp. je bakterija koja ima sposobnost prevoĊenja dušika iz zraka u amonijak uz pomoć enzima nitrogenaza ĉime pribavlja biljkama neophodne hranjive tvari i poradi tog svojstva je jadan od potencijalnih sastojaka organsko-bioloških gnojiva ĉija uporaba ĉini budućnost organsko-biološke poljoprivrede. Osim toga bakterija Azotobacter spp. ima mnoge druge sposobnosti i kvalitetne osobine kao što su: proizvodnja fitohormona, produkcija siderofora, biološka kontrola patogenih gljiva i nemetoda, sposobnost degradacije, sposobnost uzajamnog djelovanja sa mikoriznim gljivama, sinteza alginata itd.

Azotobacter spp. is bacterium capable to convert nitrogen contained in air to ammonia by help of enzyme nitogenase providing essential nutrients to the plants. Therefore it is one of potential components of organic-biological fertilizers whose utilization makes the future of organic – biological agriculture. Except that, bacteria Azotobacter spp. has many other capabilities and quality characteristic like as: production of phytohormones, siderophore production, biological control of pathogenic fungi and nematodes, capabilities of biodegradation, interactions with vesicular arbusicular mycorrhizas, sinteze of alginates etc.
