Abstract
Biotehnologija rasploĎivanja podrazumijeva zahvate kojima pod kontroliranim uvjetima vršimo rasploĎivanje ţivotinja i utječemo na genetsku selekciju širenjem poţeljne genetike. Prva generacija biotehnologije rasploĎivanja je umjetno osjemenjivanje, druga je embriotransfer, treća proizvodnja zametaka in vitro dok je četvrta manipulacija genomom uz pomoć transgeneze i kloniranja. Danas se konje ne uzgaja ponajprije s namjenom proizvoda, nego kao ţivotinje za visokoprofilirani sport te uţitak i osobno zadovoljstvo uzgajivača. Upravo zbog toga postoji potreba i ţelja za najvišom razinom selekcije odnosno u rasplod idu isključivo najuspješniji primjerci rasplodnih kobila i pastuha, iznad prosječnih rezultata u sportu, u eksterijernim kvalitetama, zadovoljavajućeg temperamenta i ćudi. Kako takve ţivotinje nerijetko nisu i idealne za rasplod, često je potrebno intervenirati primjenom različitih metoda asistirane reprodukcije

Reproductive biotechnologies implies controlled conditions in which we perform reproduction of animals and affect gene selection by expanding desirable genetics. First generation of biotechnology is artificial insemination, second is embryotransfer, third is in vitro embryo production and fourth is manipulation of the genome with the help of transgenesis and cloning. The horses are not grown primarily for the purpose of the product, but as animals for high-profiled sport and personal satisfaction breeders. Because of its value in use, there is a need and desire for the highest level of selection and breeding, where goes relatively the most successful examples of breeding mares and stallions, above average results in sport, exterior qualities, satisfactory temperament and temper. As such animals are often not ideal for breeding and it is often necessary to intervene by applying various methods of assisted reproduction
