Abstract
Zob je jednogodišnja kultura koja kao plod daje zrno. Spada u prave žitarice i bogata je masnim kiselinama, kalcijem i mineralima, kalijem željezom, bakrom, cinkom, manganom, bjelančevinama vitaminima B1, K i dr. Iako ima mnoga kvalitetna svojstva u prehrani ljudi, još uvijek se najviše koristi za ishranu stoke, prvenstveno konja jer vrlo brzo obnavlja snagu. Zobena slama je jako meka te je izvrsna stelja. Slama od zobi ima znatno veću hranidbenu vrijednost od slame drugih žitarica.Zob je biljka dugog dana, razvija dubok korijen. . Glavni zahtjev prema tlu joj je voda i nikako ne podnosi suha tla ili tla u kojima voda brzo otječe. Dobro uspijeva na tlima koja su zasićena vodom. Nema velikih zahtijeva prema gnojidbi. U Hrvatskoj se zob sije na oko 20 000 – 25 000 hektara s prosječnim prinos od 2,5 - 3 tone po hektaru. U zadnjih nekoliko godina uzgoj zobi u Republici Hrvatskoj je u padu.

Oats is a hardy crop that gives the fruit of the grain. It belongs to the real grains and rich in fatty acids, calcium and minerals, potassium, iron, copper, zinc, manganese, protein vitamins B1, C and others. Although there are many quality properties in human nutrition, is still the most used for livestock, especially horses as quickly restores power. Oat straw is very soft and has excellent litter. Oat straw has a much higher nutritional value of the straw of other cereals. Oats plant is a long day, develops a deep root. The main request of the ground water was and could not tolerate dry soil or soil where water runs off quickly. It thrives in soils that are saturated with water. No major required by fertilization. In Croatia, the oats are sown on about 20,000 to 25,000 hectares with an average yield of 2.5 to 3 tons per hectare. In recent years the cultivation of oats in the Republic of Croatia is in decline.
