Abstract
Kukuruz je jedna od najzastupljenijih žitarica u svijetu što dovoljno govori o njenoj važnosti. Ima vrlo široku uporabnu namjenu od hrane za ljudsku ishranu i stoku te za farmaceutsku, tekstilnu i kemijsku industriju. Jedna od velikih prednosti kukuruza i razlog njegove široke uporabe je ta što se dobro uklapa u skoro sve plodorede te se čak može uzgajati u monokulturi. Također kukuruz se ističe svojim visokim genetskim potencijalom pa tako kukuruz može dati do čak 25 000 kg/ha. Ipak najvažniju ulogu kako i za kukuruz tako i za ostale kulture ima čovjek koji svojim znanjem doprinosi boljem rastu i razvoju poljoprivredne proizvodnje.
Abstract (english)
Corn is one of the most abundant crops in the world which shows its importance. It has a very wide usage purpose of food for human consumption and livestock and for the pharmaceutical, textile and chemical industry. One of the great benefits of corn and reason for its widespread use is that it fits well in almost all crop rotation and can even be grown in monoculture. Also corn stands out with its high genetic potential so corn can provide up to 25 000 kg/ha. But the most important role as the corn and the other culture has a man whose knowledge contributes to better growth and development of agricultural production.
