Abstract
Dobrobit životinja je odgovornost čovjeka prema životinjama u smislu pružanja najbolje moguće skrbi i napora kako bi se osigurala što kvalitetnija razina života. U današnje vrijeme životinje se sve češće prevoze i to im stvara veliki stres. Vrste transportnih sredstava su: cestovni, željeznički, pomorski ili riječni i zračni. Životinje se prevoze u svrhu: mjesta gdje je bolja i dostupnija hrana, nekad drugom vlasniku ili na drugačiji način držanja, nekad za izložbe, natjecanja, sajmove, utrke, ocjenjivanja, rekreaciju, a najčešće na klanje. Prijevozna sredstva moraju se konstruirati, izraditi na način da se izbjegne ozljeđivanje i patnja životinja te zaštiti njihova sigurnost prilikom prijevoza. Također moraju, biti jednostavna za čišćenje, pranje i dezinfekciju. Podovi se ne smiju klizati. Fizička osoba koja obavlja prijevoz životinja i pratitelj životinja moraju biti osposobljeni za obavljanje poslova i ispunjavati uvjete Zakona o veterinarstvu. Prijevoznik životinja odgovoran je za sve štete na životinjama nastale od trenutka utovara u prijevozno sredstvo do istovara. Životinjama se u odgovarajućim razmacima tijekom putovanja moraju osigurati voda, hrana i odmor, koji svojom kakvoćom i količinom moraju odgovarati vrsti, veličini i dobi životinje.
Abstract (english)
Animal welfare is the responsibility of man to the animals in terms of providing the best possible care and effort to ensure that they have better quality of life. Today, animals are increasingly being transported in crates, and to them that creates additional stress. Types of transport equipment are: road, rail, sea or river and air. The animals are transported in purpose: where is better and more accessible food, sometimes to another owner, or a different way of holding, once for exhibitions, competitions, fairs, races, grading, recreation, and most often to slaughter. The means of transport must be designed, constructed in such a way as to avoid injury and suffering and ensure the safety during transport. They must also be easy to clean, wash and disinfect. Person performing transport of animals and companion animals must be trained to perform and comply with the requirements of the Veterinary Act. The carrier of animals is responsible for all damage caused to the animals from the time of loading in a means of transport to unloading. Animals at appropriate intervals during the journey must be provided with water, food and rest, which in quality and quantity must correspond to the type, size and age of the animal.
