Abstract
CILJ ISTRAŽIVANJA. Utvrditi postojanje rizičnih čimbenika za nastanak raka endometrija u pacijentica liječenih u Klinici za ginekologiju i opstetriciju KBC Osijek. USTROJ STUDIJE. Retrospektivna stručno istraživačka studija. ISPITANICI I METODE.

TITLE. Risk factors for endometrial cancer. OBJECTIVES. To determine the existence of risk factors for the development of endometrial cancer in patients treated at the Clinic of gynecology and obstetrics, Clinical hospital center Osijek. STUDY DESIGN. Retrospective study. PARTICIPANTS AND METHODS. The subjects were patients at the Clinic of Gynecology and obstetrics, Clinical hospital center Osijek, who were treated in the past five years in the period from 2010 to 2014. Data was collected from their medical history. The study included 60 women. RESULTS. For women between 60 and 69 years of age, the incidence of endometrial cancer is in 37 % of patients. Their generative age lasted between 33 and 40 years. 63 % of the patients had their first period aged 13 or 14 years and 78 % of them reached menopause at the age of 61 or older. 90% of the patients are post-menopausal women. Bleeding was the first symptom of the disease in 73 % of subjects. 80 % of subjects had comorbidity with hypertension, and 83 % had no comorbidity with diabetes mellitus. There was a correlation between age, body weight, body mass index, reproductive age, early menarche, late menopause and endometrial cancer. CONCLUSION. The most significant risk factors for getting endometrial cancer are age, generative age and obesity. Women between the age of 50 and 80 have the highest risk for getting endometrial carcinoma. The risk is also high in post-menopausal women, whose generative age lasted between 33 and 50, who are obese and who also suffer from hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
