Abstract | Cilj: ispitati prehrambene navike adolescenata. Ispitanici i metode: ispitanici su bili učenici od prvog do petog razreda medicinskog usmjerenja Zdravstvene i veterinarske škole Dr. Andrije Štampara Vinkovci, ukupno 234 ispitanika. Kao instrument istraživanja korišten je standardizirani upitnik o prehrambenim i životnim navikama adolescenata Questionnaire on eating habits and lifestyles of adolescents (EHLA Questionare). Upitnik se sastojao od 12 čestica. Rezultati: ispitanici, njih 78 (33,6 %), navode kako su im se prehrambene navike jako promijenile polaskom u srednju školu. Ispitanici koji žive sami ili s cimerom značajno više jedu pizzu (p = 0,03) i piju voćne sokove (p = 0,02), a koji žive u obitelji značajno češće jedu meso i perad (p = 0,003) te ribu (p = 0,02). Kruh jedu 7 puta tjedno (interkvartilnog raspona od 5,5 do 7) te mlijeko piju 5,5 puta tjedno (interkvartilnog raspona 1,5 – 7). Alkoholna pića konzumiraju od prvog razreda srednje škole. Učenici značajno češće piju pivo (p < 0,001), a učenice kavu/čaj (p = 0,03). Ispitanici petog razreda češće jedu sirovo povrće (p = 0,009), ribu (p = 0,004) i jaja (p = 0,002), dok ispitanici nižih razreda značajno češće jedu mliječne proizvode (p < 0,001), kruh/žitarice (p = 0,01) te piju lagana gazirana pića (p = 0,02). Sportom se adolescenti bave samo 0,5 puta tjedno (interkvartilni raspon od 0 do 3,5 puta). Ispitanici, njih 180 (76,92 %) procjenjuju da su normalne tjelesne mase. Zaključak: prehrambene navike ispitanih adolescenata su loše. Učenici završnih razreda imaju zdravije prehrambene navike. Postoji razlika prema načinu stanovanja, dobi i spolu. |
Abstract (english) | Objective: To examine dietary habits amongst adolescents. Subjectis and Methods: The respondents comprised of a total of 234 students from the first to the fifth grade of Medical Department at the Vinkovci-based Dr Andrije Štampara Medical and Veterinary School. A standardised questionnaire on both dietary habits and lifestyle amongst adolescents was used as a research instrument - Questionnaire on Eating Habits and Lifestyles of Adolescents (EHLA Questionnaire). The questionnaire comprised of 12 items. Results: The respondents, 78 (33.6%) stated that their dietary habits changed significantly upon enrolling secondary school. Moreover, those questioned who live on their own or with a roommate significantly more frequently eat pizza (p = 0.03) and drink fruit juices (p = 0.02), whilst those who live with their family significantly more often eat meat and poultry (p = 0.003), as well as fish ( p = 0.02). They stated that they eat bread 7 times a week (interquartile range 1.5-7), and they drink milk 5.5 times a week (interquartile range 1.5-7). Alcoholic beverages are consumed commencing from the first grade of secondary school. Male students drink significantly more beer (p <0.001) and female students drink coffee / tea (p = 0.03). The respondents attending the fifth grade more frequently eat raw vegetables (p = 0.009), fish (p = 0.004) and eggs (p = 0.002), whilst lower grade students are significantly more likely to eat dairy products (p <0.001), bread / cereals (p = 0.01) and drink light carbonated drinks (p = 0.02). Teenagers spend only 0.5 times a week doing sports (interquartile range from 0 to 3.5 times). 180 of those questioned (76.92%) estimated to have normal body mass. Conclusion: Dietary habits amongst adolescents are poor. Final grade students have healthier eating habits. There are differences concerning the lifestyle, as well as the age and gender. |
