Abstract
Pojedini pokazatelji kvalitete života procijenjeni su modificiranom skalom umora (MFIS, eng. Modified Fatigue Impact Scale) i SF36-v2 generičkim upitnikom.

Objectives: To determine differences in quality of life among patients with relapse-remitting multiple sclerosis considering: 1. Age of patients, 2. Using or non-using disease-modifying medications, 3. Time elapsed, 4. Number of relapses in last year. Aim is to determine if other outer and inner factors influence on quality of life in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. Study design: Cross-sectional study of patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Participants and methods: A total of 70 patients with RRMS were included in the study. Several indicators of Quality of life were estimated with MFIS (Modified Fatigue Impact Scale) and generic SF-36v2 Quality of life questionnaire. Basic data were collected from medical files. Results: Collecting data from medical documentation and voluntary surveying of questionnaire sheet, results were calculated to evaluate Quality of Life. Fatigue as important factor of Quality of Life, has negative influence on physical, cognitive and psychosocial functioning of patients. The influence of fatigue is lower in patients when using Disease-modifying medications and also in younger patients. Quality of life is generally lower, mostly in fields of physical functioning. Higher number of relapses last year has negatively influenced vitality, social functioning and increased influence of fatigue on cognitive functioning. EDSS disability status scale significantly correlates with influence of fatigue in patients and generally with quality of life. Conclusion: RRMS has lower Quality of life, most significantly because of physical symptomatology, while psychosocial elements of quality of life are not significantly lowered.
