Abstract
Jedan od temeljnih matematičkih pojmova je pojam funkcije koji je značajan unutar same matematike, ali i u njezinoj primjeni. U ovom diplomskom radu posebno se obrađuju četiri elementarne funkcije, to su linearna, kvadratna, eksponencijalna i logaritamska funkcija. Svaka od njih obrađena je na način na koji se učenici u srednjoj školi susreću s istom. Pri tome je za svaku od njih navedena definicija i osnovna svojstva. Osim toga, za svaku od njih dani su i razni primjeri iz svakodnevnog života koji se mogu modelirati pomoću tih funkcija.
Abstract (english)
One of the most important mathematical concepts is the concept of function, which is significant not only in mathematics itself but also in its application. In this thesis, we discuss four elementary functions – linear, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic function. These functions are explained in the way students are taught in high school. For each function, the definition and basic properties are given. Furthermore, every function is accompanied by various examples from everyday life that can be modeled using described functions.
