Abstract
Umjetnost iglom i koncem, eng. string art, tehnika je izrađivanja zanimljivih geometrijskih likova iz svakodnevnog života. Šivanje krivulja nalikuje na umjetnost iglom i koncem utoliko što se provlačenjem konca kroz rupice na kartonskoj podlozi dobivaju prelijepi geometrijski oblici. Motivirani tom tehnikom napisan je ovaj rad i programski zadatak koji šiva krivulje.Rad se sastoji od četiri dijela. U prvom dijelu predstavljena je povijest nastanka te tehnike i ukratko život izumiteljice Mary Everest Boole. U sklopu drugog dijela dana je teorijska osnova za razumijevanje glavnog (trećeg) dijela rada, a to je dokaz i matematičko pojašnjenje šivanja krivulje. Posljednji dio diplomskog rada temelji se na programskom zadatku koji je napisan u Matlabu, definiraju se najvažnije naredbe za navedeni program, pojasnjava se kod programa i iznosi se nekoliko primjera zanimljivih za dani zadatak.

Parallel abstract (English)
String art is a method of portraying interesting figures and shapes from everyday life. Curvestitching resembles string art in the sense that it produces beautiful geometrical shapes. Thementioned technique served as motivation for writing this thesis, along with a programmingtask that stitches curves. The thesis is comprised of four parts. The first part addressesconception and history of the method and briefly overviews the life of inventor Mary EverestBoole. The second part presents theoretical results for understanding the main (third) partof the thesis, which is concerened with the proof and mathematical explanation of curvestitching. The final part of the thesis is focused on a programming task, written in Matlabprograming package, defining the programs most relevant commands, explaining the algorithmand producing several interesting examples.
