Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
The media as carriers of information have the power to shape the public opinion. Television is the most powerful medium because it can convey the impressive images of what happened at an event. Journalists and reporters have an option to convey this information in different ways, and according to their report a good or bad reputation to the public about a person, organization or event is created. The paper analyses propaganda, the code of honor of Croatian journalists, as well as their independence and ethics in reporting. The case-study method is used in the thesis in order to present the way in which certain events and themes are dealt by the two Croatian commercial televisions - RTL and Nova TV.
