Abstract
Pojam autizam prvi se puta spominje oko 1911. godine, a njime je švicarski psihijatar Eugen Bleuer opisao jedan od osnovnih simptoma shizofrenije. Taj su pojam prihvatili i Leo Kanner (1943) i Hans Asperger (1944) te su opisali autistični poremećaj kod djece. Poremećaj iz autističnoga spektra (PAS) danas se opisuje kao složeni neurorazvojni poremećaj koji zahvaća sve aspekte dječje osobnosti. Za njega su karakteristične teškoće u razvoju komunikacije i socijalnih vještina, odnosno socijalnoj komunikaciji, te ograničeni i ponavljajući obrasci ponašanja, interesa i aktivnosti. Činjenica je da je usmjerenost socijalnom svijetu temelj za razvoj komunikacije i socijalnog učenja, a upravo je poremećaj govora i jezika jedan od najčešćih i najstalnijih obilježja PAS-a. Od samoga rođenja pa do progovaranja prve smislene riječi dijete razvija svoju predverbalnu komunikaciju. Uredan razvoj predverbalne komunikacije važan je preduvjet za kasniji govorno-jezični razvoj djeteta. Kako je razvoj komunikacije kod male djece dosta brz, roditelji već prije prve djetetove godine mogu vidjeti razvija li se njegova komunikacija u smjeru socijalne i verbalne. Većina djece s PAS-om ima velike teškoće u verbalnoj i neverbalnoj komunikaciji te su oštećena u svim dijelovima komunikacije od razumijevanja do izražavanja. S obzirom na to da se još uvijek ne zna uzrok poremećaja iz autističnog spektra, danas postoji velik broj tretmana kojima se nastoje ukloniti ili ublažiti simptomi PAS-a.
Abstract (english)
The concept of autism is mentioned for the first time in 1911 when the Swiss psychiatrist, Eugen Bleuer, described one of the basic symptoms of schizophrenia. This concept was also accepted by Leo Kanner (1943) and Hans Asperger (1944). They described the autistic disorder of children. Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is today described as a complex neurodevelopmental disorder that affects all aspects of the child's personality. ASD is characterized by difficulties in the development of communication and social skills and limited and recurring patterns of behavior, interests and activities. The fact is that the focus on the social world is the foundation for the development of communication and social learning, yet the speech and language disorder is one of the most common features of ASD. From birth to the first meaningful word spoken, the child develops his pre-verbal communication. Proper development of pre-verbal communication is an important precondition for later language development of the child. Considering that small children rapidly develop communication skills, parents can notice if children’s communication is developing in the social and verbal direction in the first year. Most children with ASD have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication and are damaged in all aspects of communication, from understanding to expression. As cause of ASD is still unknown, there are many treatments that seek to eliminate or alleviate the symptoms of ASD.
