Abstract
Igra je najprirodniji oblik učenja. Sadržaj koji djeca nauče kroz igru ostaje u dugoročnom pamćenju. Danas su među djecom i mladima popularne računalne igre, a u zadnje vrijeme kreatori računalnih igara nastoje osmisliti računalne igre koje su spoj učenja i zabave. Pomoću edukativnih računalnih igara djeca na njima blizak i zanimljiv način uče. One potiču dječju znatiželju, maštovitost, kreativnost, a pozitivno utječu i na razvoj kognitivnih vještina. Ovaj rad daje kratki pregled povijesti računalnih igara, podjelu računalnih igara prema žanrovima te nudi smjernice za odabir prikladne edukativne računalne igre u radu s učenicima mlađe školske dobi. Također, u radu su dani primjeri edukativnih računalnih igara i mogućnost primjene istih u razrednoj nastavi. Osim teorijskog pregleda, u radu su predstavljeni i rezultati istraživanja kojim su se ispitivali stavovi budućih učitelja o upotrebi edukativnih računalnih igara u razrednoj nastavi.

Playing is the most natural form of learning. The content that children learn through playing stays in their long-term memory. Nowadays computer games are very popular among children, and computer games creators are trying to design games that are a combination of learning and fun. Children learn through educational computer games in a familiar and interesting way. Computer games encourage children's curiosity, imagination, creativity, and also positively affect the development of cognitive skills. This thesis gives a brief overview of computer games history, the division of computer games by genres and gives guidelines for choosing adequate educational games in working with young school children. Moreover, examples of educational computer games are presented in this thesis as well as the possibility of their application in the classroom. Apart from the theoretical overview, the results of the research in which the future teachers' attitudes toward using educational computer games in the classroom are also presented.
