The theme of this paper is the connection between music and early English language learning. For the purpose of finding out more comprehensible relationship between music and its integration into English language classes, there was done a thorough analysis of the songs which can be found in English textbooks for the second-grade, third-grade and fourth-grade pupils. The reasearch also provides the examination of fourth-grade pupils' (N=17) preferences towards music as a part of English language lessons and provides more detailed information about what kind of songs children like to sing. The research was carried out at King Tomislav elementary school in Našice, more specific, Satellite school Markovac Našički. The research drew some conclusions: the largest amount of songs which are integrated into the language learning process is considered to be appropriate for children, although some songs are not adjusted to pupils' abilities. Pupils enjoy singing songs which have been successfully acquired, which are popular and well-known, of cheerful but also mysterious and doleful nature, moderate to fast tempo and playful melody. The pupils accept music and have positive reactions to the use of music as a teaching material in the process of English language aqcuisition.
