Abstract
U radu je iznesen kratki povijesni pregled organizacije ustanova za rani odgoj i obrazovanje. Potom su navedene glavne karakteristike institucijskog konteksta vrtićke ustanove i interakcije među djecom. Najveća je pozornost na načinu grupiranja djece rane dobi u ustanovama za rani odgoj i obrazovanje odnosno homogenim i heterogenim vrtićkim skupinama. Kako se u posljednje vrijeme sve više govori o ulozi roditelja, u radu je navedeno kakva je njihova uloga kao sudionika u organizaciji ustanova za rani odgoj i obrazovanje. U empirijskom dijelu rada provedeno je istraživanje među roditeljima čija djeca pohađaju dobno mješovite skupine u jednom dječjem vrtiću u Osijeku. U istraživanju je korištena anketa u kojoj su prikupljeni stavovi roditelja o organiziranju dobno mješovitih vrtićkih skupina.

The paper gives a brief historical overview of an organization of institutions for early childhood education. The main characteristics of an institutional context of the kindergarten institution and the interaction among children have been introduced after that. The greatest emphasis is put on young children grouping within the institutions for early childhood education that is within homogeneous and heterogeneous kindergarten groups. Since more has been said about the role of parents in recent times, the paper states their role as participants within the organization of the institutions for early childhood education. In the empirical part of the paper a survey was conducted on parents whose children attend age-mixed groups in one kindergarten in Osijek. A Questionnaire was used in conducting the survey which gathered parents views on the organization of age-mixed kindergarten groups.
