Abstract
Životinje se danas toliko vezuju uz dječju kulturu da se književnoanimalistički tekstovi, neovisno o tome kome su namijenjeni, gotovo automatski svrstavaju u dječju književnost. Hrvatska dječja književnost o ratu govori o Drugom svjetskom ratu i Domovinskom ratu. U radu je istražen položaj i ponašanje životinja u ratu, odnos životinja s djecom i ljudima u ratnom vremenu, prostori u kojima se životinje kreću te strahovi životinja od rata i ljudi. Za korpus istraživanja odabrani su naslovi hrvatske dječje književnosti koji tematiziraju Drugi svjetski rat i Domovinski rat. Analizirani su romani Pirgo Anđelke Martić, Bijeg u košari Maje Gluščević, Alfi se vraća kući Josipa Laće i Kučak s Prevlake Stijepe Mijovića Kočana. U promatranim romanima životinje pružaju utjehu, sigurnost i ljubav ljudima, a posebice djeci u ratnim vremenima te pokazuju odanost riskirajući vlastiti život kako bi pomogli svojim vlasnicima. Životinje su bile žrtve rata.

Animals are very attached to children culture that literary animalistic texts, regardless for whom they are made, they almost automaticly classify it as childrens literature. Croatian children literature talks about Worl War II and Homeland war. The paper explores animal position and behaviour during war, animal relation with children and people during war times, spaces where animals move around and animal fear of war and humans. For corpus studies were selected addresses of Croatian children's literature that deal with World War II and the Homeland War. These novels are analyzed: Pirgo by Anđelka Martić, Bijeg u košari by Maja Gluščević, Alfi se vraća kući by Josip Laća and Kučak s Prevlake by Stijepo Mijović Kočan. In observed novels, animals provide comfort, safety and love for people, especially children in times of war and show loyalty risking their lives to help their owners. Animals were victims of war.
