Abstract
Posljedice ozljeda zubi mogu biti vrlo ozbiljne te se mogu reflektirati tijekom čitavog života, iako toga nismo ni svjesni. One mogu, osim na fizički rast i razvoj kod djece, djelovati i na emocionalno i psihološko stanje pacijenta bilo koje dobi, pogotovo ako se zbog traume zub izgubi. Budući da se većina zubnih trauma događa u dječjoj dobi, osobe koje su u blizini djeteta u vrijeme ozljede u prilici su pomoći djetetu na mjestu nezgode. Hitan postupak je važan za konačan ishod liječenja, njegove ukupne troškove i posljedice za ozlijeđeno dijete. Prema navedenom, svrha ovog istraživanja je utvrditi razinu znanja studenata Fakulteta za odgojne i obrazovne znanosti o zubnoj traumi, budući da će oni biti često ti koji će se tijekom svoga posla naći u blizini djeteta u vrijeme ozljede, a uostalom pravovremena i odgovarajuća intervencija učitelja od presudne je važnosti. Rezultati ovog istraživanja pokazuju da je znanje o ispravnom postupku kod traume zuba u studenata vrlo nisko. Zaključuje se kako je potrebna edukacija studenata, ali i učitelja koji nisu upoznati s liječenjem dentalnih trauma kako bi se poboljšao pravilan postupak u slučaju ozljede zuba.

Results of tooth trauma can be very serious and they can be reflected through whole life although we are not aware of that. Whereas the majority of dental trauma occurs in childhood, people that are close to the child at the time of injury have a chance to help the child at the scene of injury. An urgent reaction is very important for the further treatment outcome, its total costs and consequences for injured child. According to this, the purpose of this study is to determine the level of knowledge of the students of Faculty of Education about dental trauma, because the teachers will be those who will be found near the child at the time of injury. Prompt and appropriate reaction of the teacher is crucial. The results of this study show that the knowledge of the students, about appropriate procedure when dental trauma is occurred, is very low. We come to the conclusion that there is a need to educate the students and the teachers who are not familiar with the treatment of dental trauma. All that is necessary to improve the proper procedure in case of dental trauma.
