Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Due to the increasing technological advances, the education system and teachers are faced with new demands. There was a need for new competences of which one of the major is computer literacy. Information and computer literacy are two different concepts which involve a different set of skills, and every t eacher who wants to do your job well, should possess them. Previous research of teachers` computer literacy found relatively unsatisfactory results. The aim of this study was to determine the current level of computer literacy of primary school teachers. The study was conducted in Pozega-Slavonia and Osijek-Baranja County in schools located in urban and rural areas. The results showed that the teachers` computer literacy is below average and that experience, counties and school location had no significant influence on their level of computer literacy, while there is a significant difference (p = 0,007) in their self-assessment and the actual level of computer literacy.
