Abstract
Maria Montessori najpopularnije je ime u povijesti modernog odgoja. Svoj je život posvetila zastupanju za prava djece te razvoju njihovih intelektualnih sposobnosti. Njezina pedagogija temeljena je na znanstvenom promatranju spontanoga učenja djece, poticanju vlastitoga djelovanja djeteta i njegove samostalnosti te na poštivanju djetetove osobnosti. Dakle, u središtu Montessori pedagogije je dijete, za koje je Maria vjerovala da ima prirođene mogućnosti za vlastiti razvoj. Smatrala je da poticajna okolina pridonosi zadivljujućim rezultatima, a dio te okoline sam je didaktički materijal. Sav didaktički materijal povezan je te pridonosi cjelovitom razvoju djeteta. Maria materijal koji je sama osmislila naziva ključem koji otvara vrata u svijet. Materijal za matematiku pomaže djetetu da usvoji matematičke pojmove i zakonitosti direktnim manipuliranjem predmetima.
Abstract (english)
Maria Montessori is the most popular name in the history of modern education. She dedicated her life to advocating for children's rights and proving their intellectual abilities. Her pedagogy is based on the scientific observation of children's spontaneous learning, encouraging the child's own actions and independence, and respect for the child's personality. So at the heart of Montessori pedagogy is the child, whom Maria believed had innate opportunities for her own development. She thus changed the role of the adult, which she considered to interfere with the natural self-development of the child. She believed that a stimulating environment contributes to amazing results, and part of that environment is the didactic material itself. All didactic material is connected and contributes to the overall development of the child. Maria calls the material she designed herself the key that opens the door to the world. Mathematics material helps the child to acquire mathematical laws by directly manipulating objects.
