Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu opisan je cjeloviti matematički okvir zajedno sa algoritmima potrebnima za izračun svih potrebnih parametara diofantskog frekvencijskog sintetizatora. Novi koncept diofantske frekvencijske sinteze (DFS) sa vrlo visokom razlučivošću temelji se na matematičkim svojstvima u parovima relativno prostih cijelih brojeva i linearnim diofantskim jednadžbama. DFS koncept koristi dvije ili više fazno-zatvorene petlje (PLL) koje svaka za sebe imaju manju razlučivost od one koja se dobije DFS-om te miješalo koje daje zbroj ili razliku izlaznih frekvencija svih PLL-ova. Iako postoje i druge arhitekture sintezatora s kojima se može postići ovakva razlučivosti, DFS pristup praktičan je zbog svoje jednostavnosti. Cjeloviti matematički prikaz potpomognut je sa više primjera koji se razlikuju po broju PLL-a te po tome da li je ulazna frekvencija nepromjenjiva ili promjenjiva. Detaljnija analiza izvedena je na primjeru sa dva PLL-a te nepromjenjivom ulaznom frekvencijom od 10 MHz.

This thesis describes a comprehensive mathematical framework with the algorithms which is necessary for the calculation of all parameters of the diophantine frequency synthesizer. A new concept of Diophantine frequency synthesis (DFS) with very high resolution is based on the mathematical properties in pair prime relative integers and linear Diophantine equations. DFS concept uses two or more phase-locked loops (PLL) each with a lower resolution than that achieved by the DFS principle and a mixer that gives the sum or difference of the output frequencies from the PLLs. Although there are other synthesizer architectures which can achieve such a resolution, DFS approach is practical because of its simplicity. A complete mathematical description is supported with several examples that differs in the number of the PLLs and the fact that the input frequency is unchangeable or changeable. More detailed analysis was performed on an example with two of the PLLs and the fixed input frequency of 10 MHz.
