Abstract
Zvjezdani glasnik je astronomska rasprava koju je 1610. objavio Galileo Galilei. Galileo je konstruirao teleskop i po prvi puta ga upotrijebio za opažanje astronomskih fenomena. Prikazana su opažanja i analize koja je Galileo objavio u Zvjezdanom glasniku. Prikazana su Galilejeva opažanja i analiza Mjesečeve površine. Dano je Galilejevo otkriće mnoštva, bez optičkih pomagala nevidljivih, zvijezda te rasprava o prividnoj promjeni blistavosti zvijezda ovisnoj o prisutnosti nešto Sunčeve... More svjetlosti. Ilustrirano je postojanje četiriju velikih mjeseca oko Jupitera koje je Galileo teleskopom opazio. Kratko je diskutiran značaj Galilejevih otkrića za rađanje moderne znanosti te kritike koju su njegova otkrića izazvala. Less
Abstract (english)
The Starry Messenger is astronomical treatise published in 1610 by Galileo Galilei. Galileo constructed telescope and used it for the first time for observing astronomical phenomena. The observations he presented and discussed in The Starry Messenger are described. Galileo’s analysis of his observation of the Moon's surface are presented. Galileo's discovery of myriads of previously unseen stars and apparent change in their luminosity in presence of some daylight is given. The... More existence of the four large moons around Jupiter observed by Galileo are illustrated. Significance of Galileo’s discoveries for the birth of modern science as well as critique he faced are briefly discussed. Less
