Abstract
U ovoj disertaciji objašnjena je problematika vizualne detekcije neispravnosti na sirovim keramičkim pločicama. Predstavljen je prototip sustava za detekciju neispravnosti na sirovim pločicama temeljen na digitalnoj kameri i paralelnoj procesnoj jedinici. Neispravnosti na sirovim pločicama detaljno su analizirane i kategorizirane. Obrada sive slike dobivena s prototipom predloženog sustava podijeljena je u nekoliko faza: predobrada slike, izdvajanje sirove keramičke pločice od pozadine (binarizacija), detekcija neispravnosti na uglovima i rubovima sirove keramičke pločice, ujednačavanje slike površine sirove keramičke pločice i detekcija neispravnosti na površini sirovih keramičkih pločica. U ovom radu predložena je nova metoda za binarizaciju slike sirove keramičke pločice, unaprijeđena metoda za detekciju neispravnosti na rubovima i uglovima sirove pločice i nova metoda za ujednačavanje slike površine sirove keramičke pločice. Predložene metode su testirane u laboratorijskim i industrijskim uvjetima. Za sve metode razvijeni su i implementirani sekvencijalni i paralelni algoritmi. Rezultati testiranja u laboratorijskim i industrijskim uvjetima pokazali su da predložene metode zadovoljavaju postavljene kriterije za detekciju neispravnosti na sirovim keramičkim pločica. Također, rezultati vremena izvođenja paralelnih algoritama pokazali su da metode zadovoljavaju sve postavljene vremenske uvjete tj. pogodne su za rad u stvarnom vremenu.

Parallel abstract (English)
In this PhD thesis problem of visual defects detection on biscuit tiles is presented. Prototype visual inspection system for defects detection on biscuit tiles is developed. Proposed prototype is based on area – scan digital camera and a parallel processing unit. Detailed analysis and categorization of defects that appear on biscuit tiles is given. Processing of the gray – scale image captured by the prototype is divided in several phases: preprocessing, binarization, edge and corner defect detection, biscuit tile surface image extraction and detection of surface defects. In this thesis new methods are proposed for image binarization and biscuit tile surface image extraction. Also improved edge and corner defect detection method is developed. Proposed methods were tested in laboratory and factory conditions. For all methods sequential and parallel algorithms were developed and implemented. Results of testing in laboratory and industrial conditions showed that the proposed methods meet the set criteria for defects detection on biscuit tiles. Also, time measurement results of the proposed methods showed that developed parallel algorithms fulfill all set time conditions, i.e. developed methods are suitable for real – time application.
