Abstract
Automatsko upravljanje je po definiciji automatsko održavanje željenog stanja nekog procesa ili mijenjanje tog stanja po određenom zakonu. Optimalno upravljanje odnosi se na dinamičke sustave i njihovu optimizaciju tijekom vremena. Optimalno upravljanje proces je određivanja putanja upravljačkih veličina i veličina stanja za dinamički sustav za određeni period vremena kako bi se minimizirao postavljeni kriterij kakvoće.U ovom završnom radu prikazana je teorijska podloga optimalnog upravljanja, tj. način odabira optimalnih parametara regulatora u nekom procesu prema zadanim kriterijima. Objašnjeni su kriteriji optimizacije za određenu funkciju troška uz odgovarajuća ograničenja, objašnjeni su elementi računa varijacija kao i Pontrjaginov princip minimuma, odnosno maksimuma. Na jednostavnom primjeru prikazan je izračun parametara regulatora za zadani sustav i zadani kriterij.

Automatic control is by definition maintaining desired state of a process or changing that state by a specific law. Optimal control refers to the dynamic systems and their optimization over time. Optimal control is process of determining the path of control values and the size of the state for dynamic system for a certain period of time to minimize the performance index.So in this final paper, theoretical background of optimal control was shown, ie, the selection of the optimal parameters of regulator in some process in regards to the set criteria. It explains the criteria of optimization for a specific cost function with appropriate restrictions, the elements of the calculus of variations and Pontryagin's minimum/maximum principle were also explained. A simple example shows the calculation of controller parameters for the given system and given criteria.
