Abstract
U ovom radu su opisane bežične mreže, te analizirana pokrivenost zgrade FERIT-a u Osijeku WLAN signalom. Rad se sastoji od teorijskog dijela, opisa i analize mjerenja snage signala, izrade propagacijskih modela za tri tipa prostora te proračuna dometa signala prema tri modela. U teorijskom dijelu su općenito opisane bežične mreže, njihova povijest, razvoj i karakteristike pojedinog standarda. U praktičnom dijelu rada provedena su mjerenja snage signala WLAN mreže unutar zgrade FERIT-a. Na temelju mjerenja napravljena su tri modela prostiranja signala: model prostiranja kroz hodnik, model prostiranja kroz prostorije i model prostiranja signala sa kata iznad. Primjenom ovih modela proračunati su dometi veza za tri brzine prijenosa. Na osnovu mjerenja i proračuna predložen je novi raspored i broj pristupnih točki za pokrivenost čitave zgrade WLAN signalom.

Parallel abstract (English)
This paper describes wireless networks and explores the WLAN signal coverage inside of the FERIT building in Osijek. The paper consists of a theoretical part, description and analysis of signal power measurements, making signal propagation models for three types of environment as well as signal range calculations according to the three propagation models. The first part of the paper presents a general description of the wireless networks and their history, as well as the development and the characteristics of each standard. The second part delivers a detailed analysis of the receiver signal power measurements and a design of the propagation models for three types of building spaces. Based on the measurements the following signal propagation models are generated: a propagation model for a hallway, a propagation model for rooms, and a propagation model for the floor below. These models are applied in order to estimate the wireless signal ranges for three different transfer rates. Finally, the measured and the modelled data are used to suggest a new arrangement and a different number of access points in anticipation of a full signal coverage inside of the FERIT building.
