Abstract
U ovom radu analizirali su se mogućnosti iskorištavanja otpada u energetske svrhe. Pri tome su definirane i klasificirane pojedine vrste otpada te su posebno opisane tehnologije za energetsko iskorištavanje otpada, tj. za dobivanje toplinske energije i električne energije. Postoje 3 glavna postupka obrade otpada a to su fizikalno-kemijski, biološki i termički. Zadnja dva postupka su u najčešćoj uporabi s naglaskom na termičku obradu gdje se razlikuju proces izgaranja, pirolize i rasplinjavanja. Izgaranje se vrši na rešetci, u fluidiziranom sloju te u rotacijskim pećima. U Osječko-baranjskoj županiji, koja se u velikoj većini sastoji od bioplinskih postrojenja, ne nalazi se veliki potencijal iskorištavanja otpada u energetske svrhe zbog toga što većinu ćine mali proizvođaći stoke sa ne dovoljno velikim brojem grla ali i zbog geografskih i ekonomskih faktora kao što su udaljenost postrojenja od centara za sakupljanje otpada i troškovi prijevoza.

Possibilities of using waste for energy purposes were analyzed in this thesis. Every type of waste was defined and classified, and also every type of technology that used waste for energy purposes was described. There are three main methods of processing waste and they are: physicochemical, biological and thermal processing. The latter two are most commonly used, especially thermal processing which consists of combustion, pyrolysis and gasification. There is fluidized bed combustion, rotating chamber combustion and combustion that is taking place on grid. Most of facilities in Osijek-Baranja County make up of biogas plants, but there isn’t much potential of using waste for energy purposes because majority of waste comes from small livestock farmers and there are also geographical and economic factors such as cost of transport and distance between waste centers and facilities.
