Abstract
Izraz multimedija u njezinom osnovnom značenju predstavlja skupni naziv za više vrsta medija koji onda dovode do stvaranja jedne cjeline. Multimedija se danas slobodno može nazvati fenomenom suvremenog društva u kojem svi mi živimo. Kada se koristi izraz multimedija važno je znati da ona objedinjuje različite medije, a radi se o tekstu, zvuku, slici, animaciji, videu i interaktivnosti. Multimediju čini više vrsta medija onda ti svi mediji unutar jedne datoteke predstavljaju multimedijski zapis ili kako neki znaju reći multimedijsku prezentaciju. Multimedija se primjenjuje u različitim područjima, pa tako danas se može govoriti o multimediji u poslovanju, multimediji u obrazovanju, multimediji u državnoj upravi, multimediji u zabavi, multimediji na javnim mjestima i virtualna stvarnost. Granice u obrazovanju pomaknute su kada se počinje primjenjivati multimedija. Prednosti koje donosi multimedija u obrazovanju su mnogobrojne i vrlo brzo su prepoznate, a među istaknutijima svakako su što učenici i studenti mogu učiti na svoj način, ali isto tako sadržaj je obogaćen jer se mogu stjecati nova znanja i vještine. Na koji način studentska populacija koja je sastavni dio obrazovnog sustava gleda na multimediju i njezine sadržaje donosi upravo ovaj diplomski rad koji se bavi istraživanjem preferencije prilikom odabira multimedijskih sadržaja među studentskom populacijom.

The term multimedia in its original sense represents a collective term for several types of media, which then lead to the creation of a whole. Multimedia is now free to be called a phenomenon of modern society in which we all live. When using the term multimedia is important to know that it combines a variety of media, and it is a text, sound, image, animation, video and interactivity.Multimedia makes more types of media, then they all media within a file representing a media file or as some say they know a multimedia presentation.Multimedia is used in various areas, so that today we can talk about multimedia in business, multimedia education, multimedia in public administration, multimedia in entertainment and multimedia in public places and virtual reality.Limits in education were moved when it starts to apply multimedia. The benefits brought by multimedia in education are numerous and very quickly recognize among prominent certainly what students can learn in their own way, but also the content is enriched as they can acquire new knowledge and skills. How does the student population, which is an integral part of the education system looks at the multimedia and its contents brings precisely this thesis which examines preferences when selecting multimedia content among students.
