Abstract
Donedavno se smatralo da je za poslovni uspjeh presudan kvocijent inteligencije. No, suvremena istraživanja dokazuju da poslovni uspjeh većinom ovisi o emocionalnoj inteligenciji. Emocionalna inteligencija, kao pojam, opisuje mnogobrojne ljudske aktivnosti poput karaktera, senzibilnosti i ljudskosti, a iznimno je važna kod menadžera. Menadžeri su glavni subjekti koji upravljaju i vode ljude i kao takvi trebali bi težiti ambicioznosti i motiviranosti i to na dugoročne staze. Pri zapošljavanju novih zaposlenika menadžeri bi trebali uzeti u obzir i njihovu emocionalnu inteligenciju. To je iznimno važno kod poslova koji zahtijevaju veliku mjeru socijalne interakcije. Brojna istraživanja potvrđuju činjenicu da su najbolji oni zaposlenici koji imaju visoku razinu emocionalne inteligencije. Takvi zaposlenici su iznimno važan resurs svakog modernog i uspješnog poduzeća. Kako se razvija emocionalna inteligencija u poslovanju? Odgovor leži u fleksibilnom planiranju koje predstavlja najvažniju sposobnost mijenjanja raspoloženja. Također, emocionalna inteligencija se razvija kroz rješavanje raznih zadataka koji zahtijevaju kreativnost u poslovanju. Za njeno razvijanje potrebno je i osvijestiti vlastite osjećaje, zatim uspostaviti odnos prema vlastitim osjećajima, bolje razumjeti osjećaje drugih, inteligentno prihvatiti tuđe emocije te naposljetku poboljšati vlastite sposobnosti. Emocionalna inteligencija ključ je za uspješno vodstvo jer emocionalno inteligentni i empatični vođe osjete potrebe svojih zaposlenika, slušaju što drugi govore i čitaju reakcije drugih.

Until recently it was considered that IQ is crucial for business success. However, recent investigations show that business success depends mostly on emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence, as a concept, describes numerous human features such as the character, sensitivity and humanity, and those are extremely important for person to be a great manager. Managers are the main persons that manage the employees and as such they should strive to increase ambition and motivation. Managers should take into consideration when hiring new employees, their emotional intelligence. This is extremely important in jobs that require a great deal of social interaction. Numerous studies confirm that the best employees are those who have a high level of emotional intelligence. Such employees are extremely important resource of every modern and successful company. How to develop emotional intelligence in business? The answer lies in flexible planning which is the most important ability to change moods. Also, emotional intelligence is developed through solving various tasks that are requiring creativity in business. For its development it is necessary to become aware of your own feelings, and then to establish a relationship with them. In that way person can better understand and accept the feelings of other and ultimately improve their own skills. Emotional intelligence is the key to become successful leadership because emotionally intelligent and empathetic leaders feel needs and wants of their employees. Listen to what others are saying and read their the reactions and they will follow you.
