Abstract
Mediji su danas najčešći izvor znanja i informacija, te tako uživaju veliku popularnost među ljudima i u velikoj mjeri utječu na ponašanje i odnose među ljudima. U posljednjih nekoliko godina svjedoci smo ogromnog rasta elektronskih medija. Veliku zaslugu u tome imaju i društvene mreže, koje su promijenile način komuniciranja među ljudima. U svojim počecima Internet je bio mjesto za pasivno pregledavanje sadržaja, no pojavom društvenih mreža došlo je do značajnih promjena u komunikaciji. Iz jednosmjernog kanala (televizija, novine) prešlo se u dvosmjerni kanal, gdje korisnici aktivno komuniciraju i sudjeluju u kreiranju sadržaja. Razvojem društvenih mreža marketing je doživio značajne promjene kao i odnos komuniciranja sa kupcima. Društvene mreže više ne služe za zabavu i relaksaciju među mlađim osobama, već su prepoznate i od strane poslovnog svijeta koji se više koristi društvene mreže kao alat za uspješno komuniciranje s potrošačima.

The media today is the most common source of information, which is the reason why it is so popular among people and why it affects people's behaviour and their relationships to such a great extent. In the last few years we have witnessed the tremendous growth of electronic media. The great part in this growth take the social networks that have changed the way people communicate today. In the beggining, the Internet was a place where you could simply browse the content, but with the development of social networks significant changes have occured. From one-way canal (television, newspapers) it transformed into two-way canal where users actively communicate and participate in creating content. With the development of social networks significant changes have appeared in marketing and in the way we communicate with customers. Young people don't use social networks only for fun and relaxation any more, now the business world has recognized its benefits too and they use it as a tool for successful communication with their customers.
