Abstract
Pravedna trgovina je društveni pokret i sustav certificiranja koji ima za cilj promovirati ravnopravnije trgovinske odnose između proizvođača u zemljama u razvoju i kupaca u razvijenim zemljama. Koncept pravedne trgovine naglašava plaćanje pravedne cijene proizvođačima za njihovu robu, promicanje održivih poljoprivrednih praksi i poboljšanje radnih uvjeta za poljoprivrednike i radnike. Oznaka Fair Trade je oznaka certifikata koja se pojavljuje na proizvodima koji zadovoljavaju određene standarde koje je postavila Fair Trade International, organizacija koja nadzire sustav Fair Trade. Oznaka označava da je proizvod proizveden i da se njime trguje u skladu s ovim standardima, koji uključuju zahtjeve za pravednim cijenama, pravednim radnim uvjetima i ekološkom održivošću. Općenito, Fair Trade ima za cilj stvoriti pravedniji i ravnopravniji globalni trgovinski sustav osiguravajući da proizvođači dobiju pravičnu naknadu za svoj rad i da se poštuju njihova prava. Potrošači mogu podržati ovaj pokret odabirom kupovine proizvoda koji nose oznaku Fair Trade. Cilj rada je proučiti koncept i razvoj pravedne trgovine kroz povijest, kao i glavne odrednice njezina razvoja te prikazati faktore koji su utjecali na sami razvoj ovoga pokreta. Osim toga, svrha ovog rada je poticati svijest o društvenoj pravednosti među čitateljima i naglašavati značaj pravedne trgovine kao alata za ostvarivanje tih ciljeva.
Abstract (english)
Fair Trade represents a social initiative and a certification framework with the goal of fostering greater equity in trade connections between producers in less economically developed nations and purchasers in more economically developed nations. The concept of Fair Trade emphasizes paying producers a fair price for their goods, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and improving working conditions for farmers and workers. The Fair Trade mark is a certification mark that appears on products that meet certain standards set by Fair trade International, the organization that oversees the Fair Trade system. The label indicates that the product is produced and traded in accordance with these standards, which include requirements for fair prices, fair working conditions and environmental sustainability. In general, Fair Trade aims to create a fairer and more equal global trading system by ensuring that producers receive fair compensation for their work and that their rights are respected. Consumers can support this movement by choosing to buy products that carry the Fair Trade label. The aim of this master's thesis is to explore the concept and evolution of Fair Trade throughout history, as well as the main determinants of its development, while also presenting the factors that have influenced the growth of this movement. Additionally, the purpose of this master's thesis is to raise awareness of social justice among the readers and underscore the importance of Fair Trade as a tool for achieving these goals.
