Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
It is widely known that tourism represents one of the most developed branches of Croatian economy, and how Croatian economy itself is dependent on tourism, way more than the economies of other European Union member states. There is a question of sustainability of growth in tourism, which, according to available data, depends on the available room capacity. Less traditional forms of tourism, of which we will take a look at cultural, music, and festival tourism, are the fastest growing branches of tourism worldwide, so these forms represent additional area for further growth of Croatian tourism, but also an area for a wide range of new business incentives. Since mobility isn't a mere trend and an exception any more, but has become a rule, thus shifting the interaction between the end user and what a tourist destination has to offer to mobile platforms, said mobile platforms, in combination with the aforementioned less traditional forms of tourism, represent an ideal market for new business incentives. Millennials, a generation of individuals born between 1980 and 2000, are the age group who statistically represent the greatest number of potential tourists, and who have dropped conventional habits when it comes to holidaying. People who fall under this generation spend on average 3,1 hours a day using smart devices, and, when choosing a destination, they want to visit, look for the one which offers activities that include their hobbies and interests. One of these interests are music festivals and concerts, so festival and music tourism experience constant high growth. To bring what a destination offers to the targeted audience, it is important to recognise the importance of mobility, and develop applications which these users can use to get in touch with the destination of their interest and what it has to offer them. The mobile application, and the advantages it offers, like high adaptability, constant intake of fresh data, the ability to connect users, and others, makes it an ideal way to connect with users, but also to achieve growth in the tourism sector.
