How well the company operated, can best be assessed by analyzing the basic financial statements and financial ratios. From the basic financial statements, the following were analyzed: profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow statement. The analysis of financial ratios provides an overview of liquidity, debt, and activity. In order to assess the business operations of Kutjevo, the non-consolidated financial statements of Kutjevo d.d. from 2017 to 2020 were analyzed. The profit and loss account and balance sheet were observed through horizontal and vertical analysis, the cash flow statement was observed only in absolute amount. An insight into the profit and loss account shows that there were no large oscillations in business except in 2018 when income and expenditures were the largest. The biggest profit of the analyzed period was in 2019 and 2020. In the balance sheet, Kutjevo d.d. has more than 50% of fixed assets and about 40% of current assets out of which the majority are stocks, which is understandable given that Kutjevo is active in production. Looking at the liabilities, the company has about 70% of equity, and liabilities range from 20% to 30%. Most income comes from business activities whereas cash expenditures are for investment and financial activities. The liquidity ratio shows that in 2017 they had liquidity problems, due to a large amount of inventory, but the situation changed for the better in later years. The debt ratio reports that the company is mostly financed from their capital and to a lesser extent from debt. The activity indicators show that the highest income per kuna of property was in 2018. In 2018, it took the company the least amount of days to secure the return of equity through income. In 2020, receivables were collected in the shortest amount of time. In conclusion, Kutjevo d.d. operates safely and gets better every year.
