People establish communication with others on a daily basis and it is an integral part of life. Communication is present in both the private and business world, which is why it is important to know how to communicate or transmit and receive messages. It is also important to listen properly and interpret what is being said. This paper discusses communication in general, verbal communication, but relies mostly on non-verbal communication. Non-verbal communication by body position and movement, facial expression, voice, gestures, external appearance and eye contact is body language that also conveys information and communicates messages. Knowing the signals of non-verbal communication and their correct interpretation can contribute to the understanding of the message sent to the interlocutor. This paper will also talk about cultural differences where non-verbal cues can play a big role because some people will more easily identify the message that others are sending with their non-verbal behaviour. Examples from everyday lives are related to non-verbal communication, and it can be said that in some moments it is much more important than verbal because what is said does not have to be accompanied by body language, so you can notice how the person feels or thinks. The paper also presents non-verbal communication in the business world and how clothing can influence this. In today's world, clothing is very important and most people perceive a person precisely by their clothes. Nonverbal communication compliments verbal and may have special importance in certain situations which is why it is important to pay attention to it.
