Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Entrepreneurship is a process of creating something new in four phases: identification and estimation of the opportunity, development of a business plan, and assessment of necessary resources and leadership of the new enterprise. Companies originated as a result of entrepreneurial process are divided into lifestyle companies, founding companies, and high-potential ventures. Family enterprises are systems originated as a result of combination of kinship, property of capital of the enterprise, and possibility of influence in decision making process. They are divided into active family enterprises, latent family enterprises, and family enterprises with the absent proprietor. Some of the world's largest enterprises are family enterprises. Hence, it is obvious that such enterprises have huge impact on economies of individual countries, but also the economy in general. Same as every system, family enterprises have both advantages and disadvantages. Family culture is very frequently projected onto culture of family enterprise. Thus, there are four types of family enterprise culture. Family enterprises are important for the existence of the family. The task of ensuring the existence often causes stress, but it is important to maintain a harmonious relationship between the partners and to be focused on long-term goal. In the empirical part of the work, the challenges of the family enterprise management are shown using the example of family enterprise Potens International from Đakovo.
