This paper shows how and in what manner it is necessary to communicate with the public during the crisis. Crisis public relations pass through three related phases: 1st stage - preparation for the crisis, 2nd stage - crisis communications, 3rd stage - the post-crisis communication. The crisis is a serious incident that affects the person's safety, the environment, products or reputation of the organization. Usually for such an incident peculiar hostile media against him. If we look at the crisis as unscheduled process, general causes are divided into external and internal. External causes occurring in the environment outside the organization, and there can be counted among natural disasters and accidents, political and social change, economic crisis, recession, changes in the market and so on. The crisis can be divided into: 1) the types of crisis due to the environment they come from, 2) type of crisis due to the timing of warning, 3) type of crisis due to their perception. Communication is increasingly becoming a key tool for crisis management. Dissemination of timely and accurate information to all interested parties, including the media, plays a major role for effective crisis management. In communication with the public it is crucial to achieve a partnership with the media to carry out a strategy response to the crisis. The main principles of crisis management are: 1) Define the problem, 2) Centralize or at least control the flow of information, 3) Release crisis management team of everyday business commitments, 4) When planning, assume the worst case scenario, 5) Do not depend on one individual 6) Always resist the urge to move in to the conflict, 7) Think of what the media want, 8) Do not forget any of the target group, 9) Limit the problem, 10) Recognize the value of short-term sacrifices.
