The main objective of this paper is to introduce the importance of socially responsible behavior of the company, and to explain and better understand the concept of mobbing and its complex consequences. The term „mobbing“ is the English word for work abuse or employee abuse and is directly related to corporate social responsible management. Although, most commonly, socially responsible business is considered to represents an attitude towards external stakeholders and the community in which the company operates, there is increasing debate about the relationship of the company with its internal stakeholders - employees. Mobbing is one of the most common ways of irresponsible behavior of employers towards their employees, that can occur the appearance of a range of dangerous effects on workers health and general well-being, which tend to expand in the sphere of private life. Regarding legal frameworks, mobbing is under-represented, although there are many legal texts that penelise workplace abuse and violation with severity. There is a great need to work on a detailed definition of the concept of mobbing and its contexts (what counts as mobbing and what does not), and on the design of punishments for mobbing offenders - the so-called „mobbers“. In scientific and professional terms, mobbing should be the subject of frequent and in-depth reflection. There are also many ways to prevent mobbing in various business situations. An empirical survey is done on a sample of employees from the Republic of Croatia working in various, large or small companies, from the public or private sector. The survey enabled us to view the perception of respondents and their own personal experience regarding mobbing. Analysed results completely fit the theoretical part of the work and confirm that it is very urgent to respond with a radical change in behavior towards workers at work.
