Today, we live in the world of information, for their collection and processing we need information systems and information technology. Information technology popularly called "IT" appears as the first computer in 1946 and is developing daily and at higher speeds. The main components of the information system are: hardware, software, databases and computer and communication networks. Looking at the technical aspects information technology are technologies needed for electronic data processing, while from the economic point of view information technology is used to process data on which business decisions are made. Information technology has contributed to the development of many branches of the economy, so it quickly finds its application in transport, especially in road, rail, air and maritime way of transportation. The use of information technology in transport has led to a reduction in transport costs, better communication between the subjects in the transport process, and greater security of cargo, driver and passengers. The common name for information technology used in vehicles is transport telematics. Among the most common and most widely used technologies used in transport are: GPS - Global Positioning System, RFID - Radio Frequncey Identification, Smart Cards, The transport sector in the Republic of Croatia after the big crisis that started in 2008 and lasted until 2012 has recorded positive moves. But the crisis has changed quite the look of the market itself, many of the big companies have failed. This has also affected the application of information technology in the Croatian transport sector due to the large number of small companies and the small number of medium and large companies. Small businesses, though seeing the benefits of using information technology in transport, are eager to decide on introducing some new technology due to small budgets and setting other priorities,
