Abstract
Nanočestice su čestice sa barem jednom dimenzijom manjom od 100 nm. Karakteristične su po specifičnim svojstvima koja se mijenjaju na nanorazini, kao što su talište, vrelište, topljivost, kemijska reaktivnost, električna vodljivost i sl. Ulaskom nanočestica u tijelo, one će prvo doći u dodir sa imunološkim sustavom, jedinstvenim i kompleksnim sustavom za prepoznavanje opasnosti. On će zatim reagirati ovisno o fiziokemijskim osobinama te nanočestice. Utjecaj nanočestica na imunološki sustav ovisi o putu ulaska čestica u tijelo i molekulama koje oblažu njihovu površinu, a može imati pozitivne i negativne učinke na zdravlje, ovisno o svojstvima nanočestica i svrsi u kojoj se koriste. Inženjerske nanočestice pronašle su široku upotrebu u raznim industrijama i svakodnevnom životu, no najutjecajnije su u medicini gdje se koriste u imunoterapiji karcinoma i proizvodnji cjepiva. U ovom radu navedeni su najčešći primjeri nanočestica, a to su metalne, oksidne i sulfidne.
Abstract (english)
Nanoparticles are particles with at least one dimension smaller than 100 nm. They are characterized by specific properties that change at the nanoscale, such as melting point, boiling point, solubility, chemical reactivity, electrical conductivity, and others. When nanoparticles enter the body, they first come into contact with the immune system, a unique and complex system for recognizing danger. The immune system then responds depending on the physicochemical characteristics of the nanoparticles. The impact of nanoparticles on the immune system depends on the route of entry into the body and the molecules that coat their surface, and it can have both positive and negative effects on health, depending on the properties of the nanoparticles and their purpose of use. Engineered nanoparticles have found wide applications in various industries and everyday life, but their most influential applications are in medicine, where they are used in cancer immunotherapy and vaccine production. This study presents the most common examples of nanoparticles, which include metallic, oxide, and sulfide nanoparticles.
