Abstract
Brachypodium distachyon (L.) P. Beauv.) modelna je biljka iz porodice Poaceae koja se koristi za istraživanje odgovora na različite tipove abiotičkog stresa kod biljaka s C3 tipom fotosinteze. U radu je dan pregled znanstvene literature čija tematika istražuje djelovanje različitih tipova abiotičkog stresa kao što su suša, niska i visoka temperatura, solni stres te nedostatak dušika u tlu na morfologiju i fiziologiju B. distachyon. Primjena transkrtiptomike, proteomike i metabolomike, u istraživanjima odgovora na abiotički stres ove vrste, omogućavaju integrirani pristup s ciljem boljeg razumijevanja otpornosti na stres te predstavljaju temelje za daljnja istraživanja i razumijevanje prilagodbe biljaka na abiotički stres. Nadalje, navedena istraživanja imaju za cilj implementirati ova saznanja u procese selekcije i oplemenjivanja žitarica u svrhu poboljšavanja prinosa i bolje prilagodbe na klimatske promjene.
Abstract (english)
Brachypodium distachyon (L.) P. Beauv.) is a model plant from the Poaceae family used to investigate responses to different types of abiotic stress in plants with C3 photosynthesis. The paper reviews the scientific literature whose research investigates the effects of different types of abiotic stress such as drought, low and high temperature, salt stress and nitrogen deficiency in the soil on the morphology and physiology of B. distachyon. The application of transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics, in research on responses to abiotic stress of this species, provide an integrated approach to better understand the resistance to stress and propose foundation for further research and comprehension of plant adaptation to abiotic stress. Furthermore, the above research aims to implement this knowledge in the processes of selection and breeding of cereals in order to improve yields and better adaptation to climate change.
