Današnja intenzivna poljoprivreda rezultirala je sve većom uporabom pesticida koji nose određen rizik za okoliš. Stoga je predmet istraživanja u ovome radu odrediti toksičnost komercijalnih pripravaka herbicida na gujavice. Zbog njihove ekološke važnosti, gujavice su korištene kao indikatori za procjenu potencijalnog utjecaja kemikalija na organizme tla. Today's intensive agriculture has resulted in increasing use of pesticides that carry a certain environmental risk.
