Abstract
Nanotehnologija je tehnologija dizajna, sinteze i primjene materijala izrađenih na nano razini veličine. Nanočestice su čestice veličine od 1 do 100 nm. Nanočestice i nanotehnologija sve se više primjenjuju u gotovo svim granama ljudske djelatnosti (medicina, farmaceutska industrija, industrija boja, kozmetika i dr.). Sve veća prisutnost nanočestica u svakodnevnoj uporabi podrazumijeva i sve veću prisutnost nanočestica u okolišu. Utjecajem nanočestica na okoliš i njegove sastavnice bavi se nanotoksikologija tj. nanoekotoksikologija. Biokemijski biljezi (biomarkeri) su kvantitativne mjerljive promjene u biološkim sustavima kao odgovor na izloženost ksenobioticima. Rani odgovor biomarkera na izloženost ksenobioticima koristi se kao alat za predviđanje mogućeg utjecaja izloženosti. Biomarkeri gujavica predstavljaju koristan alat za monitoring tla i procjenu okolišnog rizika te posljednjih godina postaju sve važniji u procjeni utjecaja zagađivala na organizme tla te je zbog toga kao eksperimentalni organizam korištena kompostna gujavicaEisenia fetida. Ovim radom istražen je učinak nanočestica ZnO na ekspresiju biomarkera (AChE, CAT, GST, MT, TBARS) kod kompostne gujavice.

Nanotechnology is a technology of design, synthesis and application of the materials developed at the nanoscale. Nanoparticles are particles with a size of 1 to 100 nm. Nanoparticles and nanotechnology are increasingly being used in almost all branches of human activity (medicine, pharmaceuticals, paint industry, cosmetics, etc.). The increasing presence of nanoparticles in everyday use includes increasing the presence of nanoparticles in the environment. Nanotoxicology ie. nanoecotoxicologydeals with influence of nanoparticles on the environment and its components. Biomarkers are quantitative measurable changes in biological systems as a response to exposure to xenobiotics. Early response of biomarkers of exposure to xenobiotics is used as a tool to predict the potential impact of exposure. Biomarkers of earthworms are a useful tool for monitoring soil and assessment of environmental risks, and in recent years have become increasingly important in the assessment of the effects of pollutants on soil organisms, and therefore a compost earthworm Eisenia fetidahas been used as an experimental organism. This study investigated the effects of ZnO nanoparticleson expression of biomarkers(AChE, CAT, GST, MT, TBARS) in the compost earthworm.
