Abstract
Vodena leća Lemna gibba L. izložena je djelovanju različitih koncentracija ionskog koloidnog srebra u hranjivoj otopini. Akumulacija srebra u tkivu vrste L. gibba uzrokovala je oštećenje fotosintetskog sustava, smanjenje koncentracije fotosintetskih pigmenata te smanjenje koncentracije proteina. Aktivnosti glutation-reduktaze i glutation-S-transferaze su se smanjivale povećavanjem koncentracije ionskog koloidnog srebra, dok su se aktivnosti ostalih antioksidativnih enzima (askorbat-peroksidaze, gvajakol-peroksidaze, katalaze i superoksid-dismutaze) povećavale. Koncentracije glavnih pokazatelja oksidacijskog stresa, vodikovog peroksida i produkata lipidne peroksidacije, povećavale su se s povećanjem koncentracije ionskog koloidnog srebra. Ionsko koloidno srebro uzrokuje oksidacijski stres u stanicama vrste L. gibba čiji se intenzitet povećava s porastom koncentracije ionskoga koloidnoga srebra u hranjivoj otopini i u samoj biljci. Vodena leća L. gibba može poslužiti kao eksperimentalni model za proučavanje štetnog djelovanja metala na biljke u vodenim ekosustavima.

Lemna gibba plants were exhibited to different concentrations of ionic colloidal silver in the nutrient solution. The accumulation of silver in tissues of L. gibba caused damage to the photosynthetic system, reduced the concentration of photosynthetic pigments and proteins. Activities of glutathione reductase and glutathione-S-transferase were diminished by increasing concentrations of ionic colloidal silver, while activities of other antioxidant enzymes (ascorbate peroxidase, guaiacol peroxidase, catalase and superoxide dismutase) were increased. Concentrations of the main oxidative stress indicators, hydrogen peroxide and lipid peroxidation, were increased along with the increase of ionic colloidal silver concentration. Ionic colloidal silver caused oxidative stress in the cells of L. gibba whose intensity increases with increasing concentrations of ionic colloidal silver in the nutrient solution and also in the plant itself. L. gibba can be used as a model plant for further studies of toxic metal effects on plants in aquatic ecosystems.
